EP97: Transitions in Life and Business
Life is funny sometimes.
And…
We all must suffer through it.
For many of us, you and me included…
We have to deal with things that show up out of the blue, so to speak.
I have recently gone through a divorce, and it has been a transition I was not looking forward to.
Instead, it just showed up and took control of my life.
I apologize for not being consistent with this podcast as I would like.
I suppose I will have to deal with it though.
I cannot control everything.
Divorce is one of those times in life that we like to call “factors for change”.
Loss of a job.
Loss of a marriage.
And…
A loss of life.
These are times in our lives when we have to stop and evaluate our feelings and accept the change that is taking place.
Because…
It happens whether we want it to or not.
Sometimes business imitates life too.
Businesses can suffer loss too.
The split up of business partners.
Business failure.
And…
Changes in business strategies.
As this NEW year continues to move forward, are you where you had expected to be?
Some of you may be exceeding your goals…
And maybe…
Some of you are struggling to make your dreams come true.
If you are struggling…
What can you do to overcome this?
What do you need to learn to be better at your business?
Whether the struggles are ones that can be overcome easily or not, only you can say.
If you are having difficulty attracting customers to your business, you may want to think about what is the source of your difficulty.
You may be surprised that most difficulties can easily be overcome once you uncover the true problem.
Some of you may be experiencing that your emails are not being read, or that your unsubscribes are more than you had expected.
Why is that?
and
What can be done?
If you would simply take yourself outside your comfort zone.
And then simply…
Take a look at your emails with NEW eyes.
And…
As you focus these NEW eyes, read the words you wrote,
and imagine yourself to be one of your prospects and/or customers.
As your prospect…
Do you understand what the email is about?
Does it speak directly to you?
or
Does the email seem confusing?
Is it too short?
Is it too long?
Is the email focusing on YOU and your business?
or
Does it focus on your prospects and customers?
Is this an email you would welcome into your inbox?
Creating emails that speak to your list of prospects and your customers, is not something to take lightly.
Creating engaging emails is needed to keep any business alive and well.
When someone reads your emails, they should feel as if you are speaking directly to them.
Your email should guide them through difficulties.
It should help them feel as if they are not alone.
It should encourage them to make the changes they need to make.
The changes that will transform them from where they are in their lives…
To the destination they want for them personally, and for their business.
While email can be difficult at first, it is just another skill that you can learn.
Let me say that again.
Email is just another skill, among many, that you can learn.
In fact, you MUST learn it.
It is one of those Key Must Have Skills, that we just need to learn to master.
In case you missed them, I have created podcasts on the subject of email, that I hope you enjoy.

It happens to all of us.
So go ahead and catch up on them and see if they help.
I believe they will.

Have a great day!
Take care and be well.
