EP6: Don't Let Negativity Get You Down!

I would like to take a moment to cover something very important.

Sometimes we work so hard to be the best marketer that we think we can possibly be, but in the back of our minds, there is a nagging feeling that something is just not right.

Do you know what I mean?

You're doing the work.

You're thinking about your customers.

You're trying to deliver the best value possible to your followers, your prospects, and your customers.

But still ...

There is that thing.

That thing you catch yourself saying to yourself.

"What am I doing?"

"Who am I to think I can do this?"

"What makes me a deliverer of value to my customers?"

"Why should they trust me?"

First of ALL, let me tell you this ...

Those thoughts are absolutely NORMAL!

If you did not second guess yourself, then I would think that that is the real problem.

As a NEW Marketer, it is normal to second guess the value you believe you are delivering to your customers.

Many times we get so used to the things we had at one time struggled to do, but over the course of time, we have become so proficient at doing it that we forgot how hard it was.

So, later we forget that we are DELIVERING, real value.

When we teach, train, or deliver the appropriate products that solve a problem your customer has, we ARE delivering solutions that are valuable.

We forget that the interaction we have with our customers IS the thing that is initially delivering value. Never forget that.

Even the simplest things we share with them can at times, for them, be extremely valuable.

So yes everything you do to take away the pain your customer is experiencing IS VALUABLE.

Just because it seems to be trivial or something simple, it is only because you are experienced now.

For your customers ... are experiencing your services from a different perspective.

So what can we all do when negativity comes our way?

I have found a few things to think about.

We ALL have negative thoughts. I do, you do, we ALL do. It is completely normal. There is nothing wrong with you or me just because we occasionally have negative thoughts.

The problem though is this.

It is NOT that we have negative thoughts.

The problem is once we BELIEVE our inner negative thoughts are true.

So as an online marketer, if you are feeling like you’re just not good enough, my advice to you is this …

Step back and think about all the good things you have been doing to help your online community.

When you write a blog post or record a YouTube video to share some helpful information.

Or possibly you are recording a podcast to help others overcome a problem.

Remember, everything you do …

… everything you put out there in the world will be seen or heard by someone.

Someone is going to see the value in your content.

Believe it!

And, always remember “it’s better to be an optimist who is sometimes wrong than a pessimist who is always right”.

Marcus Aurelius said “Very little is needed to make a happy life; it is all within yourself, in your way of thinking”.

There you go.

Go out there

Serve others

Make a difference in this world

And most of ALL, believe in yourself.
